Scattered showers develop this week in Cyprus

Chances of rain and thunderstorm activity, temps fall slightly midweek but rise back up

A weak low pressure system is affecting the area over Cyprus, bringing showers and possibly thunderstorms that will last throughout the workweek as well as slight changes in temperature.

Tuesday skies will be mostly clear at first but increasing clouds later on will bring chances of showers mainly in the western half of the island. Temperature highs will reach 25 degrees Celsius inland, 24 in coastal areas, and 14 high up in the mountains.

Rain chances will continue in the evening when thunderstorms are also expected mainly in the coastal areas in the north and out west. Night temperatures will drop down to 10 degrees inland, 14 along the coast, while it will be 7 higher up.

A minor temperature drop is expected on Wednesday, when scattered showers including possible thunderstorms will continue in the days ahead and through Friday, when levels will rise back up to slightly above normal averages.
