A low pressure is moving over Cyprus on Monday brining chances of showers and thunderstorms in the interior along with powerful winds on the southern coast.
Despite mostly clear skies on Monday, cloud formations are expected in the afternoon along with chances of isolated showers and thunderstorms mainly inland and mountains.
Very strong winds are also expected along the southern coast.
Temperature highs will climb to 38 degrees Celsius inland, 34 in the north, 33 on the southern and eastern coasts, while it will be 30 in the west and high up in the mountains.
Evening skies will remain mostly clear, occasionally punctuated by periods of increasing low clouds over local areas and foggy conditions in the early morning.
Temperature lows will drop to 20 degrees inland, 23 in the coastal regions, while it will be 19 higher up.
Similar weather is expected Tuesday with no chance of precipitation but showers and possibly thunderstorms are back in the forecast by mid-week, mainly in mountain areas.
