Stars and clouds to welcome the New Year

Cheers to clear nights and confetti cloud

In Nicosia, weak high pressure sets the tone for a mostly clear New Year's weekend. Today, expect gentle northeast winds evolving to the west-northwest, reaching a moderate 3 to 4 Beaufort.

The sea mirrors this transition, from calm to a slight ripple. Temperature-wise, anticipate a pleasant 22 degrees in the interior and along the coast, with cooler temperatures at 11 degrees in the higher mountains.

Tonight, the weather maintains its clarity with light northwest to northeast winds at 2 to 3 Beaufort. The sea stays relatively calm. Temperatures will dip to around 8 degrees inland, 10 degrees on the coast, and a brisk 4 degrees in the higher elevations.

As Saturday unfolds, early clear skies give way to increasing high clouds. Moving into New Year's Eve on Sunday, expect more clouds, with the chance of isolated light rain, particularly in the mountains and the north.

Welcoming New Year's Day on Monday, the weather becomes partly cloudy to occasionally overcast, with hints of localized rainfall, especially after noon.

While Saturday's temperatures hold steady, a gradual drop is anticipated by Monday, settling just above the seasonal average. Get ready for a New Year's weather mix, blending clarity with a touch of mountain rain!
