Weather officials issued a yellow warning for Cyprus on Tuesday, citing high chances of thunderstorms and hail in the early afternoon.
An unstable air mass combined with a weak low pressure system is affecting the island, prompting officials to issue a yellow warning effective from Tuesday late morning at 11am through early evening at 7pm.
Isolated heavy thunderstorms in the early afternoon accompanied by hail will very likely affect local areas across the island.
During severe thunderstorms, hail is also likely according to the yellow warning, with precipitation expected to exceed 35 millimeters per hour.
Car drivers should avoid puddles and standing water that can cause vehicles to hydroplane, especially those not traveling at low speeds.
