Sunshine, showers, and serenity

Embracing three days of weekend bliss

Newsroom

Expect a partly cloudy day with occasional clouds passing by. Isolated showers and brief thunderstorms are likely, particularly in the western and northern regions initially, spreading gradually to mountainous areas and the eastern half of the island. Winds will vary from southwest to northwest, ranging from light to moderate, about 3 to 4 Beaufort. Offshore winds may become moderate to strong, reaching 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea will generally be slightly choppy, though initially calm to slightly choppy in the east. Temperatures will peak around 20 degrees Celsius inland and along the coast, dropping to around 10 degrees Celsius in higher elevations.

Tonight most areas of the island will experience clear skies, with occasional patchy clouds in the west possibly bringing isolated showers. Winds will start from the southwest to northwest and later become downslope, remaining light at about 3 Beaufort. The sea may be slightly choppy initially but is expected to gradually calm down. Temperatures will decrease to around 8 degrees Celsius inland, 10 degrees Celsius on the south and east coasts, 12 degrees Celsius on the west and north coasts, and 2 degrees Celsius in higher elevations, potentially causing frost locally.

On Saturday, expect intermittent clouds with isolated showers throughout the day, with increasing high clouds in the afternoon.

Intermittent medium to high clouds will dominate the sky on Sunday, with occasional low clouds forming intermittently, bringing the possibility of isolated light rain.

On Green Monday, a low-pressure system developing south of the island will intermittently affect the area, mainly from the afternoon onwards. Expect mostly cloudy weather during the morning and afternoon hours, with intermittent localized showers and isolated thunderstorms possible. The weather phenomena are expected to intensify from the evening onwards. Dust suspended in the atmosphere is expected from Sunday onwards.

Temperatures will remain relatively stable over the three-day period, staying near or slightly above seasonal averages.
