Newsroom

Police have detained a suspect believed to be leading an organized group involved in arranging unlawful entry for foreign nationals into Cyprus.

Authorities say the arrest followed the analysis and use of gathered intelligence. The operation forms part of ongoing efforts to track down and dismantle networks connected to irregular migration.

Recent enforcement activity has produced multiple outcomes. On April 29, officers made nine arrests, carried out five deportations, and recorded eleven voluntary departures. On April 30, twelve deportations and forty-three voluntary departures were documented.

Looking ahead, additional removals have already been scheduled for the period between April 30 and May 4, including thirteen deportations and thirty-two voluntary departures.

Police state that operations will continue with a consistent focus on both returning individuals without legal status and identifying those who organize or assist unlawful entry and residence.
