Teen collapses outside Paphos school after suspected drug-related vaping

Authorities are examining whether the 16-year-old inhaled cannabis-infused liquid through an e-cigarette.

A 16-year-old boy was rushed to Paphos General Hospital on Wednesday afternoon after collapsing outside a local school. Although he was found near the premises, initial checks suggest he is not enrolled at that institution.

Medical staff provided immediate first aid, and the teenager regained consciousness shortly after arriving at the hospital. Police sources indicate that investigators suspect he may have inhaled a drug-infused substance using an electronic cigarette shortly before the incident.

No vaping device was discovered on him, leading authorities to consider the possibility that he may have borrowed or been handed one by someone else. The collapse occurred shortly after classes had ended for the day, when the school was already closed.

Officers are now exploring all scenarios, including whether the e-cigarette involved could have contained cannabis-derived liquid. The investigation remains ongoing.
