A low-pressure system centred over Rhodes, accompanied by a series of weather fronts, is moving southeast and is expected to affect the area until tomorrow morning, bringing unsettled conditions before the weather begins to improve.
Today will be mostly cloudy, with occasional local showers and isolated thunderstorms. Hail is also possible during thunderstorms, so take extra care if you are heading outdoors. Fortunately, conditions are expected to improve significantly from late afternoon onwards.
Winds will initially blow from the south to southwest at 3 to 4 Beaufort, gradually shifting to southwest to northwest while maintaining the same strength. However, winds may become variable and stronger during thunderstorms. The sea will be generally slight to moderate.
Temperatures will reach around 26°C inland and along the coast, while higher mountain areas will remain cooler, at around 15°C.
Tonight, cloud cover will increase locally at times, with isolated showers possible along the coast, particularly in the west and north. Isolated thunderstorms cannot be ruled out in these areas.
Winds will gradually become downslope and light, reaching around 3 Beaufort. The sea will initially be slight, becoming generally calm to slight later in the night.
Tomorrow, Friday, the weather will be partly cloudy, with isolated showers and thunderstorms expected after midday, mainly in the mountains, inland areas and the north.
On Saturday, periods of increased cloud cover will bring the possibility of isolated showers or thunderstorms, mainly in the mountains and northern areas. By evening, isolated showers or thunderstorms may also develop in the west.
Sunday will begin mostly cloudy, with isolated showers or thunderstorms possible. However, conditions are expected to improve soon afterwards, with the skies becoming mostly clear, although cloud cover may increase temporarily. Temperatures are not expected to change significantly and will remain below the seasonal average.
Our advice: Keep an umbrella close at hand, especially if you plan to be outdoors today or over the weekend. While brighter conditions are expected at times, a few showers and thunderstorms may still catch you by surprise!
