Turkey sends military aircraft south of Cyprus (PHOTO)

The so-called ministry of defense in the occupying territories describes it as a ''training flight.''

On the day of the dinner hosted by United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, which will mark the start of the informal expanded meeting on the Cyprus issue, Turkey, the occupying power, chose to send military aircraft south of Cyprus.

In a statement today, the Turkish Ministry of Defense explained: "A training flight was conducted in the international airspace of the Mediterranean, south of the island of Cyprus, with the participation of our fighter and support aircraft, which took off from various bases linked to our Air Force Command."

Turkey also released photographs from the so-called "training flight" of its fighter jets, which once again violated the Republic of Cyprus' Flight Information Region (FIR).
