UNIC Christmas Spirit returns for a joyful on-campus holiday experience

UNIC Christmas Spirit 2024 (29 November-6 December) is co-organised by the University of Nicosia and Karaiskakio foundation

The University of Nicosia (UNIC) and the Karaiskakio Foundation are delighted to bring back the Christmas spirit with a week-long celebration full of festive events and activities. The “UNIC Christmas Spirit 2024” will run from Friday, 29 November, to Friday, 6 December, welcoming the public to join in the holiday festivities:

• Christmas Tree Lighting with live broadcast by LOVE FM 100.7
• Christmas Village with an outdoor market and activities
• Free Christmas Movie Screenings.

Christmas Tree Lighting: 29 November, 18:00

The festivities begin with the lighting of the Christmas tree on Friday, 29 November, at 18:00. Guests will enjoy complimentary treats as they listen to seasonal music provided by Fani Papamichael and Tasos Evangelou during a live broadcast with LOVE FM 100.7. The evening will also feature musical performances by students from UNIC’s Music programme.

Christmas Village

29 November, 18:00-22:00
30 November - 1 December, 11:00-19:00

On 29 November between 18:00 and 22:00, and 30 November to 1 December, between 11:00 and 19:00, visitors can explore UNIC’s Christmas Village. This festive market features beautifully decorated wooden houses and stalls offering handicrafts, holiday decorations, gifts, sweets, drinks, and street food.

During the weekend 30 November to 1 December, activities for both adults and children will include dance and music performances, storytelling, face painting, a photo booth with Santa and his elves, a bouncy castle, and more.

Christmas Movie Screenings 2 - 4 December, and Friday, 6 December

Adding to the family-friendly atmosphere, “UNIC Christmas Spirit” will host free Christmas movie screenings from Monday, 2 December, to Wednesday, 4 December, and Friday, 6 December, at UNIC’s Discovery Hall.
