Limassol court approved a seven-day detention order for investigation

In a shocking turn of events, a 52-year-old woman has been apprehended by Limassol Police for allegedly orchestrating a fraudulent real estate scheme.

The suspect, posing as a real estate agent, targeted victims in Limassol, extracting large sums of money for land purchases, sales, and apartment rentals.

According to police investigations, the 52-year-old managed to deceive an 81-year-old man between March 2022 and December 2023, extracting a staggering €416,500 by convincing him to invest in the purchase and sale of two plots of land.

Another victim, a 54-year-old, reported the suspect extracted €1,500 for renting an apartment but faced delays and eventually received only €500 back.

The suspect faces multiple charges, with victims ranging from an 81-year-old man to individuals aged 31 and 54. The Limassol District Court has approved a seven-day detention order for further investigation into these disturbing cases of fraud and extortion.
