A woman in Limassol has reported a new incident involving harassment and verbal abuse by a man already known locally for approaching people to ask for money.
According to her account, she was stopped at traffic lights near the city’s zoo when the man came up to her car and knocked on the window, asking her to open it. She refused. He then attempted to open the car door himself while shouting insults at her.
She contacted the police to report what had happened. As she described it, the response she received was dismissive, with an officer reportedly recognizing the individual and reacting casually before placing her on hold for several minutes. She ended the call without further assistance.
The woman shared her experience publicly on social media, including a photo, which led to a strong reaction online. Many commenters said they had encountered the same individual and described similar incidents, suggesting this behavior has occurred repeatedly in the area.
