Andreas Petsas named new CEO of Eurobank Cyprus

Eurobank Cyprus’ Board of Directors, decided to appoint Mr Andreas Petsas as a Member of the Board of Directors and as the Bank’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), in a meeting held on 17 September 2024 in Nicosia.

Mr Petsas started his career in the banking sector in 1997, at Laiki Bank where he held various managerial positions in Corporate Banking. In 2006-2007, he served as Deputy General Manager and member of the Executive Council of Laiki Bank Serbia. He joined Eurobank Cyprus in 2007, taking over as General Manager of Corporate Banking, while before his appointment as CEO he held the role of Senior General Manager. 

Mr Petsas holds a BSc in Business, Finance and Economics from the University of East Anglia and an MSc in Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). He is also registered in the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission’s Public Register of Certified Persons as an Advanced Certification holder.

Mr Andreas Petsas succeeds Mr Michalis Louis, who served as the CEO of Eurobank Cyprus ever since its establishment in 2007 until 2024. The Board of Directors would like to thank Mr Louis for his important contribution throughout the years, both in the Bank’s establishment and growth, as well as, for its recognition as one of the country’s leading financial institutions. The Board would also like to congratulate Mr Petsas for taking over as the Bank’s CEO, wishing him every success in his new role and expressing its confidence that the Bank will continue its successful record.
