Australia’s High Commissioner visits Minthis

Her Excellency, High Commissioner of Australia, Mrs. Fiona McKergow visited Minthis on Monday, 30th May, as part of her official visit to Paphos.

The Australian High Commission has placed under its auspices the initiatives of AKTI Project and Research Centre, proceeding in beach clean-ups in Paphos. At the same time, Mrs. McKergow stated her support in projects such as Minthis which are directly connected to environmental sustainability, promoting biodiverse policies and ecological activities. Minthis, being part of the Natura 2000, is a place which Mrs. McKergow wished to pay a visit for a while now.

Executive Director of Pafilia, Mrs. Evangelia Eliadou, welcomed the High Commissioner who was amazed by the serene beauty, the forward-thinking nature inspired concept of Minthis, and the way the project has developed over the recent years.

Mrs. Eliadou informed Mrs. McKergow about the latest developments and the progress at the resort explaining that 2022 is a monumental year for Minthis which sees the opening of its world-class facilities including The Plateia, home to a range of dining and shopping options, and a unique ground-breaking wellness Spa, one of the largest in Cyprus and the Mediterranean, which will be opening their doors to the public early September.

‘This is such an amazing landscape. I have never imagined such a beautiful place could be hidden in the hills of Tsada. I will come back with my family’ Mrs. McKergow stated.

The Resort General Manager of Minthis, Mr. Stelios Filippides made sure that everyone enjoyed a beautiful tour of the natural surroundings and the newly designed Suites, that opened in 2021 and operate as a luxury boutique accommodation with 5-star hotel-style services. He personally introduced to all the guests the history of resort and the onsite 12th Century Monastery of the Holy Cross, Stavros Tis Minthis.

All guests enjoyed afternoon drinks at the veranda of the Clubhouse watching the sunset over the golf course, while dinner was served under the starry sky. F&B Manager, Marios Petrou received excellent remarks for the quality of the new seasonal menu, the impeccable service and hospitality standards, as the honoured guests were departing delighted for Nicosia.
