The Republic of Cyprus could receive its first revenues from natural gas in 2028, according to Energy, Commerce and Industry Minister Michalis Damianou.
Speaking to Politis, Damianou said the amount of revenue due to the state is determined by the agreements signed between the Republic and the companies involved in the development of the country's natural gas resources.
The minister linked the expected start of state revenues to the planned production of the Cronos field. The field contains more than 3 trillion cubic feet of natural gas and is expected to enter production in 2028.
Damianou also referred to the Aphrodite field, saying that developments there are expected during the second half of 2027.
