Diesel prices in Cyprus have reached a new record, with the most expensive litre selling for €2.126 on Wednesday, according to figures from the Consumer Protection Service’s Price Observatory.
The highest price was recorded at a petrol station in Limassol, while the national average stood at €2.024 per litre.
At the other end of the scale, motorists in the Famagusta district could find diesel for as little as €1.939 per litre, the lowest price recorded across the island.
The figures were processed by the Cyprus News Agency (CNA).
Petrol prices also vary across districts
For 95-octane unleaded petrol, the highest recorded price was €1.819 per litre in Paphos district. The lowest was €1.669 in Famagusta, with the national average at €1.752.
Prices for 98-octane unleaded petrol were also highest in Paphos, where the most expensive litre was listed at €1.999.
The cheapest 98-octane petrol was available in Nicosia at €1.738 per litre, while the nationwide average was €1.807.
