In today’s world, where material abundance often coexists with pressing human need, small acts of kindness can make the greatest difference. The “Second Home” program by Kotsovolos is one such act, a bridge between surplus and need, comfort and struggle, everyday items and extraordinary hope.
Now expanding to Cyprus, this humanitarian initiative channels the power of technology into something far greater than convenience. It becomes a lifeline. Kotsovolos is not just delivering appliances. It is delivering dignity, stability, and the chance for a better tomorrow to those who need it most.
The idea is simple, yet profoundly human: a refrigerator, stove, or washing machine that one person no longer needs may be life-changing for another. In partnership with the Pancyprian Volunteerism Coordinative Council, which identifies families in real need, Kotsovolos takes working household appliances, inspects and restores them, and delivers them, free of charge, to homes where they can make a real difference.
Since 2017, over 2,450 families in Greece have received this kind of support. In Cyprus, 52 families have already benefited. But behind each number is a human story: a single parent who can now cook for their children, a family able to wash clothes at home, an elderly woman who can store her life-saving medication safely. These are not statistics. They are transformations.
The “Second Home” program is part of Kotsovolos’ wider initiative, REACT (Responsibility, Empowerment, Action, Community, and Transformation). But above all, this program is about people helping people with Kotsovolos as the enabler.
Donating is easy, but the impact is deep. If you own a large household appliance (fridge, stove, washing machine) under 10 years old and in working condition, you can offer someone more than a machine. You can offer relief, support, and a fresh start. Kotsovolos will handle everything: collection from your home, inspection, servicing, and delivery to a family in need. You’ll even receive updates on the journey your appliance makes, because you’re not just giving an object. You’re giving someone a second chance.
As a small thank you, donors receive a €30 voucher, redeemable on a future purchase of twice the value. But the true reward lies in knowing that your kindness has touched a real life.
In a world that often moves too fast to notice those left behind, Kotsovolos’ “Second Home” reminds us of something powerful: the ability to care, to act, and to lift others up. Together, we can build not just homes—but hope.
