Bank of Cyprus successfully hosted the event titled “Building Stronger Bonds with Society”, which brought together non-governmental organisations (NGOs), charitable foundations, and volunteer groups with the goal of strengthening collaboration and long-term sustainability.
The event opened with remarks from Elias Demetriou, President of the Pancyprian Coordinating Council for Volunteerism, who underscored the importance of synergy between volunteer organisations and the business community. He also stressed the need for transparent and stable partnerships with a people-centered focus.
The Bank of Cyprus then presented its new service, QuickPay Care, which enables customers and organisations to support social causes easily and instantly through digital transactions.
Attendees also received updates on the regulatory compliance framework for NGOs from Pamela Eteocleous, Head of Financial Crime Policy and Assurance in the Bank’s Compliance Division. In addition, Elli Ioannidou, Director of Corporate Social Responsibility at Bank of Cyprus, shared key insights on what makes a successful sponsorship proposal from NGOs to the private sector. These presentations offered valuable knowledge and practical tools to help NGOs approach corporate partnerships more professionally and effectively.
The event concluded with an open discussion and exchange of ideas, highlighting both the challenges and opportunities that arise when social and business stakeholders collaborate toward a shared vision.
Bank of Cyprus extends its sincere thanks to all participants and reaffirms its commitment to supporting initiatives that promote social responsibility, sustainability, and positive social impact.
