Wizz air now flies from Larnaca to Cairo

New flights will take Cypriot travelers to Sphinx International Airport, the perfect starting point to explore the city of Giza and the vibrant Egyptian capital

Press Release

Wizz Air the most environmentally sustainable airline globally1, is excited to announce a new route from Larnaca to Cairo. Starting on October 29, the new route will operate three times a week, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, providing passengers with convenient flight options. Tickets are now available on the Wizz Air website and mobile app with the ticket price as low as EUR 35.99.

With the introduction of this new route, Wizz Air is becoming the first low-cost airline to offer flights between Larnaca and Cairo. This addition strengthens the airline’s leadership position in Larnaca, where it is already the largest carrier, reaching recently the milestone of transporting 8 million passengers to and from Larnaca Airport.

Landing at Sphinx International Airport, the new route provides easy access to both Cairo, the capital of Egypt, and the city of Giza.

Giza is perfect for history enthusiasts as it is the site of the iconic Great Pyramid, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, and The Great Sphinx, which dates back to the 26 century BC. Travelers can also explore the bustling capital of Cairo, a modern metropolis in an ancient world set along the famous Nile River. Travelers can experience a taste of Egyptian culture with local music, food and river tours. It’s within travelling distance to the Valley of the Kings and Queens which features breathtaking architectural designs.

One pass, unlimited adventures
Last month Cyprus officially joined the rest of the countries in offering WIZZ MultiPass, Europe's first flight subscription plan which allows passengers to lock in the price of their ticket and baggage for the entire 12-month period.

With a subscription, Cypriot travelers can create personalized travel plans to suit their needs. They can choose between one-way or return flights and have the option to add the Wizz Priority service and/or baggage allowance. As with a regular Wizz Air ticket, additional services can be purchased and added to the booking before the flight through the “Check-in & bookings” page.
