In a surprising twist, Cyprus is experiencing a mix of summer showers and unpredictable weather patterns. Several areas of the island have been treated to a refreshing rain, and according to the Meteorological Service, tonight will bring more excitement with locally increased low clouds, especially along the coast.
Tonight's forecast calls for mostly clear skies, but later on, coastal areas will see an increase in low clouds. Winds will blow from the southwest to northwest and locally up to the northeast, ranging from light to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea is expected to become a little rough, adding to the island's atmospheric drama.
Temperatures tonight will drop to a comfortable 22 degrees Celsius in the interior, around 24 degrees on the coast, and a cooler 20 degrees in the higher mountains.
Tomorrow, the weather will clear up, but the winds will pick up. Expect southwest to northwest winds, light to moderate at first, becoming stronger throughout the day, reaching up to 5 Beaufort in some areas. The sea will be slightly rough, with conditions becoming choppier in the south, west, and north. Temperatures will soar to 38 degrees in the interior, around 32 degrees on the west and southwest coasts, 36 degrees on other coastal areas, and 31 degrees in the higher mountains.
As we move into Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, the forecast is for mostly clear skies. Temperatures will gradually rise slightly, hovering just above the average for this time of year. No significant changes are expected on Thursday, but the weather will continue to keep everyone on their toes.
So, grab your umbrella, sunscreen, and maybe even a windbreaker as Cyprus embraces this wild and wacky week of weather!
