€3.5 million project to revitalize Old Oroklini neighborhood approved

EU funds to support completion of historic neighborhood’s restoration.

The Larnaca Municipality announced that the final phase of the “Restoration/Revitalization of the Old Voroklini (Oroklini) Neighborhood” project, estimated at €3.5 million, has been approved for co-funding by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development of the European Union.

The project was recently approved by the Directorate of European Funds of the Ministry of Interior.

In a statement, the municipality said the project was prepared in collaboration with the Oroklini Municipal District and that EU co-funding will support the completion of the last three sections of the historic neighborhood’s restoration.

“The project aims at the overall upgrading and promotion of the Old Oroklini area,” the municipality added. “The total cost is estimated at €3.5 million, with co-funding from the European Union.”
