Warner Bros. Discovery and Cablenet have announced the launch of HBO Max in Cyprus through a major expansion of their strategic partnership. Starting July 22, selected Cablenet subscription plans will include full access to the HBO Max streaming app, making Cablenet the first local provider to offer the platform to Cypriot viewers.
The deal gives Cablenet customers access to HBO Max’s extensive library of hit series, blockbuster films, and exclusive originals, including Game of Thrones, Succession, Barbie, The Last of Us, Friends, and the full Harry Potter film collection.
“HBO Max brings world-class entertainment to our customers, and we’re proud to be the first in Cyprus to offer it,” said Ioannis Mavridis, CEO of Cablenet. “This move strengthens our commitment to innovation and customer value.”
Jamie Cooke, EVP at Warner Bros. Discovery, called the expansion a “milestone” in delivering premium content to Cypriot audiences, with the flexibility and quality expected from HBO Max.
Subscribers will benefit from personalized features like user profiles, watchlists, cross-device viewing, and European travel portability under the EU’s portability regulations. Upcoming releases on the platform include Task, a new HBO original series starring Mark Ruffalo, and IT: Welcome to Derry, a prequel to Stephen King’s It.
Cablenet, a leading telecommunications provider in Cyprus, continues to enhance its offerings across internet, mobile, and TV services as part of its ongoing expansion.
