The Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation, honoring Cypriot tradition and as part of its study and research into our intangible cultural heritage, continues this annual tribute in collaboration with Florentia Kythreotou and invites you to an interactive workshop dedicated to the Cypriot Easter table and the ideal wine and food pairings.
The workshop focuses on selecting and understanding Cypriot wines and how they can enhance the dishes served on Holy Saturday and Easter Sunday. The goal is to provide practical and creative suggestions so that participants can confidently choose the right wine for every dish on the festive table.
As part of the workshop, there will be a brief PowerPoint presentation on the topic of wine and food pairing.
Workshop Structure
1. The evening after the Holy Saturday service. What we eat and drink on Holy Saturday dinner after the service.
2. The Easter Sunday table: What we eat and drink
3. Desserts. What we drink with traditional sweets
Interactive part
The workshop will include:
• Tasting of 5 selected Cypriot wines
• Small samples of Easter dishes
• Presentation of the basic principles of food and wine pairing
• Discussion and interaction with the participants
Florentia Kythreotou is a writer and wine and gastronomy educator with a wealth of writing and extensive experience in the fields of food, culture and education. She holds the international WSET Level 3 (Wine & Spirit Education Trust) qualification and is a certified trainer by the Human Resources Development Authority (HRD).
