Kapopoulos Fine Arts Presents Contemporary Art Auction in Nicosia

The auction includes 82 works by various artists and is aimed at both experienced collectors and young art lovers.

Press Release

Kapopoulos Fine Arts is pleased to announce its upcoming Contemporary Art Auction, taking place on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at 19:00 at Nicosia Gallery (43 Stasikratous Street). The evening promises a dynamic celebration of modern and contemporary artistic expression, bringing together established collectors, art professionals, and new buyers in an engaging auction setting.

The auction features 82 carefully selected works, offering a compelling cross-section of contemporary artistic production. Spanning different generations, movements, and visual languages, the auction constructs a multi-layered narrative of today’s art scene—where tradition intersects with innovation and diverse aesthetic approaches coexist. The selection has been thoughtfully curated to appeal both to seasoned collectors seeking significant additions to their collections and to emerging buyers taking their first steps into the art market.

Among the highlights is Mr. Brainwash, one of the most recognizable figures of the international street art movement. His works, infused with references to pop culture and urban visual language, bring vibrancy and global appeal to the sale. Equally significant is the presence of Yiannis Mytaras, a seminal figure in postwar Greek painting, represented by works distinguished by expressive intensity, gestural dynamism, and emotional depth.

The auction further includes works by Kostis Georgiou, celebrated for his bold and instantly recognizable sculptural vocabulary; Spyros Vassiliou, who masterfully bridged modernist aesthetics with scenes of Greek everyday life; and Richard Orlinski, whose iconic pop-infused sculptures enjoy strong international demand.

Complementing these notable names are works by George Lappas, Angelos, Antonia Iroidou, Kikos Lanitis, Andreas Karagyan, Vasileios Sperantzas, and many other artists, collectively presenting a wide spectrum of contemporary artistic approaches. With starting prices from €300, the auction offers accessible entry points alongside high-profile highlights, reinforcing its appeal across different levels of collecting.
The Contemporary Art Auction underscores Kapopoulos Fine Arts’ continued commitment to presenting carefully curated sales that reflect both artistic significance and current market momentum.
