Larnaca hosts 2nd Jazz Festival with free entry on Sept. 26-27

The 2nd Jazz Festival will take place on September 26-27 at Zuchouri Square in Larnaca, featuring top artists from the Cypriot and international jazz scenes, curated by Akis Farmakalidis.

The free-entry festival will showcase a diverse range of live performances, highlighting both renowned and emerging jazz musicians. Attendees can expect unique interpretations of jazz standards and new musical explorations.

Festival lineup

Day 1: The festival opens with Vasilis Xenopoulos, a member of the English jazz scene, performing with a quintet featuring prominent Cypriot musicians. This will be followed by a groundbreaking 12-piece ensemble led by Alex Oikonomou and Alice Ayvazian, offering a Latin-infused take on jazz standards under the direction of Giorgos Morfitis.

Day 2: Charlotte Storer from the English jazz scene will start the day with her quintet, joined by guitarist Olaf Lansberg. Greek artist Thanos Stavridis and his distinguished collaborators will present a Balkan Jazz-influenced program. The evening concludes with South African Marguerita Freeks and her band, also directed by Giorgos Morfitis.
