What to do this weekend in Cyprus

From sailing and seaside lunches to village festivals, comedy and cultural events, here are six ideas for Sept. 19–20.

Weekend ideas for Sept. 19–20

The weekend is looking much friendlier than Friday’s stormy weather, with plenty of sunshine and temperatures of around 31 C in Limassol and 32–33 C in Nicosia.

Sunday sailing and lunch by the marina

Sunday looks like the better day for uninterrupted sunshine. Head out early, stop for a swim if conditions allow, then return for a relaxed lunch overlooking the boats. Remember to check the latest marine forecast before setting sail—a sunny forecast does not always mean a well-behaved sea.

Avdimou swim and the Anogyra Pasteli Festival

Start Sunday with a swim at Avdimou Bay before heading inland to Anogyra for the village’s annual Pasteli Festival. Visitors can watch traditional carob syrup and pasteli being made while enjoying local food, music and Cypriot hospitality.

Indian culture beside the Limassol seafront

Namaste Cyprus brings an evening of Indian music, dance and culture to the Marios Tokas Municipal Garden Theatre on Sunday from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. It is an easy addition after a day sailing or relaxing along the coast.

Advance booking is recommended.

English-language comedy in Nicosia
