Happy Friday, folks! Sizzling heat with some surprise showers ahead

Here's your weekend weather report!

Newsroom

Good morning, weather warriors! As we step into this fabulous Friday, the weather has a bit of a split personality. Early birds will enjoy mostly clear skies with a few low clouds, especially near the coast. But don’t let that fool you—by midday, expect some clouds to crash the party, bringing along a few isolated showers and maybe even a surprise thunderstorm, especially if you're hanging out in the mountains or inland areas.

Winds will start off in a playful mood, blowing from the southeast to southwest at a gentle 3 Beaufort. But as the day progresses, they’ll switch it up to southwest and northwest, turning up the volume to a light to moderate 3 to 4 Beaufort. Offshore, expect them to get a bit more enthusiastic, reaching 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea will be in a party mood too, starting a little rough and getting choppier by the afternoon, particularly in the north, west, and south.

Temperature-wise, it’s a hot one! We’re looking at a sizzling 39°C inland, a cooler 33°C on the west coast, 35°C on the rest of the coast, and a refreshing 30°C up in the higher mountains.

Tonight, after a day of weather antics, things will calm down with mostly clear skies. However, don’t be surprised if you see some low clouds rolling in, especially along the coast. Late-night owls and early risers might even encounter some thin fog or mist. Winds will mellow out, sticking to the southwest to northwest at a lighter 3 to 4 Beaufort, eventually calming down to a gentle 3 Beaufort. The sea will continue to be a little rough. Temperatures will drop to a comfortable 25°C inland, 24°C on the coast, and a cool 18°C in the mountains.

As we cruise into the weekend and Monday, the weather will kick off with clear skies in the morning. But, like today, expect clouds to make an afternoon appearance, bringing along isolated showers and possibly a thunderstorm, mainly in the mountains and inland areas.

Saturday will see a slight dip in temperatures, but by Monday, they’ll be on the rise again, staying above the seasonal average. So, keep your sunblock handy and maybe an umbrella too—just in case the weather decides to throw a curveball!

Enjoy your weekend, stay cool, and keep smiling!
