Thirteen teenagers aged between 15 and 17 received treatment at a hospital emergency department after becoming unwell following alcohol consumption at a Halloween party in Limassol.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident, seeking to identify those responsible for organising the event and supplying alcoholic drinks to underage guests.
Limassol Assistant Police Director Lefteris Kyriakou confirmed that officers had established the identities of all 13 teenagers. Statements have also been collected from parents and people involved in organising the party.
According to the Limassol Police Directorate, six parents have so far given statements after their children experienced health problems following the consumption of alcohol.
Initial information gathered by police suggests that parents had given permission for their children to attend a Halloween event, believing it would be held at a different venue where alcoholic drinks would not be available.
The party had originally been planned for a location in Limassol where no alcohol was expected to be served.
Speaking to Sigma TV, Kyriakou said those found to have been involved in organising the event would be brought before the courts.
Investigators are continuing their inquiries to establish the circumstances surrounding the party, identify its organisers and determine who was responsible for selling alcohol to minors.
