166 coronavirus cases detected in Cyprus

166 new coronavirus cases were detected in the Republic of Cyprus on Friday, when 3,672 tests were carried out, raising the total to 4,217.

20 involved contacts of other known cases, 123 were people who took the initiative to get tested, 11 got tested at general hospitals, seven were airport arrivals, while two more were either part of special health groups or people who were referred for testing by their GPs.

Another case was detected in the framework of the targeting school staff and students, while two arose in the framework of the program being undertaken by the Cyprus Football Organization.

The Famagusta general hospital is currently treating 22 coronavirus patients, three of which are in the ICU. The Nicosia general hospital is treating four more patients who are intubated in the ICU, while eight more are receiving treatment in a coronavirus ward.
