A 44-year-old filed a serious complaint with the police on Sunday afternoon.
Specifically, shortly before 5:00 p.m., the man went to the Pera Chorio Nisou Police Station and reported that earlier, while working in the area, he had been injured in the leg by a gunshot fired from a distance of approximately 30 meters by a hunter using a hunting rifle.
The 44-year-old was taken to Nicosia General Hospital for treatment, and his condition is not considered life-threatening. The hunter involved later presented himself at the Pera Chorio Nisou Police Station and provided his own account of the incident.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the incident occurred in an area open for hunting.
Investigations are ongoing.
