A third dose is recommended for children over 12, a fourth to the more vulnerable

In its efforts to protect the most vulnerable from covid, the National Advisory Committee on vaccines and the Ministry of Health are recommending the following:

1st Recommendation:

The Scientific Advisory Committee recommends that a booster/3rd MRNA-technology vaccine dose be given to persons 12 years of age and older provided that the six-month period has elapsed since the administration of the second dose.

The validity of the European Digital Certificate (SafePass) will not be affected in case the person declines the booster dose.

2nd Recommendation:

The National Advisory Committee on Vaccination recommends the administration of a 2nd booster/4th vaccine dose to persons over 70 years of age, provided that the period of five months after the 1st booster/3rd dose has elapsed.

Moreover, a 2nd booster/4th dose (after 5 months of the last dose) is also recommended for residents and workers in nursing homes and other closed facilities, health care professionals and immunosuppressed persons.

The validity of the European Digital Certificate (SafePass) will not be affected in case the person declines the 2nd booster/4th dose.

The recommendation of the National Advisory Committee on Vaccination will be endorsed by the Council of Ministers during their subsequent meeting.

 

 

2. In persons of any age, provided that the period of five (5) months has elapsed from the receipt of the support / 3rd installment:
• In tenants and workers of nursing homes and other closed structures,
• In health professionals,
• In immunosuppressed persons ( see list below).
• In active treatment for solid tumors and haematological malignancies
• With a history of solid organ transplantation receiving immunosuppressive therapy
• With a history of transplantation of primary hematopoietic organs receiving immunosuppressive therapy
• Infected with
HIV
factors
Regarding cortisone intake, it refers to people who have received or are receiving a total dose of 10 mg prednisone / day (= 8 mg methylprednisolone) for one (1) month in the last six months.
• With renal insufficiency undergoing dialysis or peritoneal dialysis.
It is understood that the validity of the European Digital Certificate (SafePass) is not affected in case of non-receipt of booster / 4th installment.


The recommendations of the National Advisory Committee for Vaccinations of the Ministry of Health will be ratified by the Council of Ministers at a next meeting.

 

 

 

 

The Scientific Advisory Committee has recommended that specific population groups should receive 2 doses of covid vaccine, according to an announcement yesterday after a meeting with the Minister of Health.

1st recommendation for a 3rd vaccine dose

The Scientific Advisory Committee recommends that a booster/3rd MRNA-technology vaccine dose be given to persons 12 years of age and older provided that the six-month period has elapsed since the administration of the second dose.

The validity of the European Digital Certificate (SafePass) will not be affected in case of non-administration of a booster dose.

2nd recommendation for a 4th vaccine dose

The National Advisory Committee on Vaccination recommends the administration of a booster/4th vaccine dose to persons over 70 years of age, provided that the period of five months after the booster/3rd dose has elapsed.

Also to persons of any age, provided that a period of five months has elapsed since the administration of the booster/3rd dose, in particular for:

Residents and workers in nursing homes and other closed facilities, health care professionals and immunosuppressed persons.

The validity of the European Digital Certificate (SafePass) is not affected in case of non-administration of a booster/4th dose.

According to the Ministry`s announcement, the recommendations of the National Advisory Committee on Vaccination of the Ministry of Health will be endorsed by the Council of Ministers at a subsequent meeting.
