In a dazzling display of glitz and glamour at The Royal Hall in Nicosia, the 22nd Bank of Cyprus Man of the Year Awards 2023 saw President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nicos Christodoulides, take the stage to present the coveted Man of the Year award to none other than the acclaimed author, Alex Michaelides.
The President's remarks
"I've said it many times, and I believe it wholeheartedly – the greatest asset of this land is its people. That's why I want to congratulate the organizers who, through events like these, showcase our compatriots, highlighting individuals who serve as role models for society. Role models that we particularly need in these challenging times we live in.
Tonight, we witnessed the recognition of people who inspire, who pave the way, and who offer hope for tomorrow. One among them has truly stood out, as the significance of his work is acknowledged not only here in Cyprus but by millions worldwide. Esteemed representatives of the press and distinguished figures in the arts and literature have all bestowed him with the accolades he deserves. With great joy and pride, I announce that the Man of the Year 2023 is none other than the author, Alex Michaelides."
