A 44-year-old man was arrested Tuesday in connection with the theft of goods worth €181,000 from a supermarket in the Larnaca district between 2020 and 2021, police said.
The arrest follows a complaint filed by the store’s manager, who reported that various items had gone missing over the course of a year.
Police said the suspect, a former employee of the supermarket, was taken into custody upon his arrival in Cyprus. He was arrested on the basis of a court warrant issued during the investigation.
The man is expected to appear in court Wednesday for a detention hearing.
The case is being investigated by the Larnaca Criminal Investigation Department.
