Thick smoke was seen rising over Tabriz International Airport following what Iranian state media described as an Israeli airstrike on the northwestern city.
Footage shared on social media and broadcast by local news agencies appeared to show flames and plumes of black smoke billowing from the airport area. The semiofficial Tasnim news agency reported the airport was “under heavy Israeli attack.” Mehr News also published video of the scene, showing fire and smoke.

The strike follows a major Israeli attack near Tehran, which, according to Iranian media, killed at least 78 people and wounded more than 300. The reported strike near the capital targeted an area on the city's outskirts, though further details remain unclear.
In response, Iranian security sources told the Fars News Agency that retaliation “will come very soon.”
There has been no immediate comment from Israeli officials on the reported strike in Tabriz.
