A fire that broke out Friday afternoon in the Polemidia area was brought under control, the Fire Service said.
The blaze affected dry grass, wild vegetation, and waste materials on steep terrain.
Authorities evacuated a carpentry workshop and a nearby dog shelter as a precaution. Both were successfully protected from the flames.
Five fire engines from the Fire Service responded, supported by two Forestry Department vehicles, three from Civil Defence, and one each from volunteer groups SupportCY and Kitas Weather.
Police officers were also on the scene. Four firefighting aircraft assisted ground crews with water drops.
