Forensic examinations have confirmed that Dimis Mavropoulos died by drowning following multiple injuries sustained in a maritime accident off Cape Greco.
The findings were released on Monday after an autopsy was carried out on Mavropoulos' body by the Cyprus Forensic Medicine Service.
According to the forensic report, the official cause of death was recorded as drowning in water in the presence of multiple bodily injuries.
Mavropoulos died on Saturday, August 29, following an accident at sea in the Cape Greco area. The forensic examination found several injuries on his body, which investigators said were consistent with the circumstances reported at the time of the incident.
The injuries were linked to the rough sea conditions and the accidental impact of the vessel on which Mavropoulos was travelling.
The autopsy was conducted by Dr Angeliki Papetta, Director of the Forensic Medicine Service, and forensic pathologist Dr Orthodoxos Orthodoxou.
The findings provide the official medical determination of the circumstances surrounding Mavropoulos' death following the fatal incident off Cape Greco.
