Autumn on paper, summer in spirit: Cyprus celebrates under sunny skies

Clouds may try their luck, but the sun still calls the shots.

Happy holiday, Cyprus! While the calendar insists it’s autumn, the weather has clearly decided, “Not so fast!” and is clinging to summer like a child refusing to let go of the beach.

Today: Expect the unexpected in the skies. Clouds will gather here and there, possibly bringing a few cheeky, isolated showers. Winds will start off gentle and indecisive (3 Beaufort), then pick up their minds by the afternoon, blowing from the southwest to northwest at a moderate 4 Beaufort. The sea will have a little bounce to it, slightly rough, but nothing too dramatic. Temperatures are serving full-on holiday vibes: 32°C inland (perfect for ice cream emergencies), 30°C along the coast (ideal for a late dip), and a fresh 22°C up in the mountains (great for anyone who packed a sweater "just in case").

Tonight: The skies will mostly clear up for your evening stroll or fireworks, though the west and north may see some low clouds sneaking in. Winds will ease back but still keep things lively at 3-4 Beaufort. The sea remains slightly rough, just enough to keep the boats rocking gently.

Looking ahead (Thursday–Saturday): Clouds are in a playful mood, popping in and out, especially over the mountains, where a few isolated showers might drop by uninvited. But don’t worry, the sun isn’t going anywhere, and temperatures will stay steady, hovering right around what’s normal for this time of year (a.k.a. still warm enough to question whether autumn is real).

Whether you’re heading to the beach, the mountains, or just the sofa for a well-deserved day off, enjoy the holiday sunshine. Cyprus, autumn may be on the calendar, but summer clearly hasn’t handed over the keys yet.
