A death threat message scribbled onto a cardboard box was found in Larnaca after members of the bomb squad were called out to examine a suspicious package.
According to police, a young man called the authorities on Wednesday evening around 8:20pm, saying a suspicious package had been placed on the hood of his car.
Additional reports said the incident took place in the Ayion Anargyron area in Larnaca district, while the vehicle in question belonged to a 22-year-old male who notified authorities.

Members of the squad rushed to the scene, securing the perimeter and carrying out a preliminary evaluation of the object including threat level. A pyrotechnic procedure was then used to neutralize the object, using controlled explosion to detonate the suspicious package.

Media reports said the mother of the 22-year-old man, who had spoken with police, told officers she had seen a person on a motorcycle wearing a white helmet and placing an object on her son’s vehicle.
Another possible witness, a neighbour, reportedly said he heard the sound of a motorcycle and went outside, adding that he saw an object on the car.
CID Larnaca are carrying out an investigation.
