Chief Rabbi of Cyprus discusses security issues with Chief of Police

Strengthening ties between the Jewish community and Cyprus' law enforcement

In a step toward reinforcing cooperation and mutual understanding, the Chief Rabbi of Cyprus, Rabbi Arie Zeev Raskin, held a meeting with the Chief of Police, Themistos Arnaoutis, alongside senior officials from the Cyprus Police Force. The discussions focused on matters of security and the overall well-being of the Jewish community in Cyprus, highlighting the importance of maintaining a safe and inclusive environment for all citizens.

According to an official statement released by the Chief Rabbi’s office, Chief of Police Arnaoutis reaffirmed the ongoing partnership between the Jewish community and law enforcement authorities. He emphasized the police force's unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety and protection of all residents, regardless of their religious or cultural background. The statement further noted that the Chief of Police reassured the delegation of the police force’s dedication to upholding security measures that foster a welcoming and secure atmosphere across the country.

During the meeting, Rabbi Raskin, accompanied by an official delegation representing the Jewish community, expressed his deep appreciation for the Cyprus Police’s consistent efforts in safeguarding the well-being of the Jewish population. He acknowledged the professionalism, vigilance, and dedication demonstrated by law enforcement officers, which have contributed to a strong sense of security within the community.
