Once upon a time, in a land not too far,
A high-pressure system said, "Here we are!"
But it wasn’t too strong, nor too bold, nor too grand—
Just a whisper of weather, a wave of the hand.
Today! Oh, today! What a curious mix!
The clouds play peek-a-boo—such meteorological tricks!
A raindrop may tumble, a snowflake may fall,
(But mostly up high, not down here at all).
The wind starts off lazy, just wandering through,
Then whoosh—it picks a direction or two!
From northeast to southeast, a blustery feat,
At three or four Beaufort—not too much heat.
By morning, beware! There’s frost in the air,
A shimmery, glimmery, icy affair.
The mountains will shiver, the valleys will yawn,
And the sea will just wobble—not angry, not gone.
Tonight, hush! The clouds take a rest,
With a sprinkle of stars—just nature’s best.
The wind stays quite proper, not rowdy, not rude,
And the mountains get extra frosty (don’t lose your snood!).
Thursday stays mostly merry and bright,
With clouds playing games and showers in sight.
Perhaps a snowflake, perhaps just some sleet—
Only the mountains will get that treat!
Friday, oh Friday! It huffs and it puffs,
Bringing storms with a grumble (but nothing too tough).
And Saturday? Well, it can’t quite decide—
A smattering of clouds with the sun as a guide.
A sprinkle of rain, but just here and there,
Mostly up mountains, if you care.
But listen up closely, here’s something quite nice:
The cold will start shrinking, the warmth will entice!
The temperatures rise, the chill slinks away,
And soon we’ll have just the right kind of day!
(And by the way, in case you must know,
Chionistra’s snow is this much—2 cm below!)
