A 43-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman were taken into custody after their three dogs attacked a 25-year-old domestic worker and two children, ages 3 and 6, in the Moni industrial area on Sunday morning.
The Limassol District Court on Monday ordered the couple held for two days as police continue their investigation.
Police said the dogs escaped from a fenced property about 600 meters from the scene of the attack. Officers responding to the incident found the woman and the 3-year-old boy with injuries to various parts of their bodies.
Both were taken to Limassol General Hospital. The child received first aid and was discharged, while the woman underwent surgery to treat her wounds. Her condition was not considered critical.
Authorities said the dogs were unregistered and had no ownership permits. They were seized by a veterinarian.
The case is being investigated by the police in coordination with Veterinary Services and the local community authority.
