Christos Misos captured the gold medal at the World Para Archery Championships in South Korea on Saturday, giving Cyprus a world champion in the sport.
The Cyprus National Paralympic Committee said Misos not only secured the title but also retained his No. 1 spot in the world rankings.
Misos advanced through the early rounds with consistent form before eliminating South Korea’s national champion in the semifinals. He then defeated a Belgian opponent in the final to clinch the medal.
The committee praised Misos along with his coach and technical adviser, Savvas Lakeridis, and the Cyprus Archery Federation.
The Cyprus Sports Organization also celebrated the victory, calling it another milestone in Misos’ career and noting that the win confirmed his place at the top of the international standings.
