The Municipality of Paphos has signed a contract to create two new museums in the city’s historic district as part of its cultural development drive.

The €1.85 million project, awarded to Agagrand Construction Ltd., will deliver the “Georgios Kr. Tornaritis” Museum of Natural History and Art along with a Multithematic Museum. Completion is expected within 10 months, municipal officials said Tuesday.

Mayor Phedon Phedonos announced the agreement on social media, calling the museums “modern cultural spaces” that will showcase significant art and historical collections while boosting the city’s tourism profile.

The project was designed by a team of Cypriot specialists led by architect Andreas Vardas. Officials said the investment underscores Paphos’ commitment to strengthening its cultural identity alongside ongoing upgrades to the historic center.
