Cyprus Airways has finalized a partnership with Dubai-based low-cost carrier flydubai, according to information obtained by Kathimerini.
The collaboration was effectively launched with the airline operating the diplomatic “Head of State” flight that departed at 8 a.m. for Mumbai, India. President Nikos Christodoulides, along with the diplomatic delegation and a business mission organized by the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry and participating business leaders, are currently traveling directly from Larnaca to Mumbai, where they are expected to arrive at around 5 p.m.
The presidential business mission to India is being described as a historic and strategically important initiative aimed at strengthening economic and trade ties between Cyprus and India.
According to sources, the new partnership between Cyprus Airways and flydubai will connect Larnaca with Dubai and, by extension, with flydubai’s wider international network.
Passengers will be able to book connecting flights to all flydubai destinations through a single Cyprus Airways ticket, covering both onward and return travel.
For example, a traveler could fly from Larnaca to Dubai with Cyprus Airways and then continue from Dubai to New Delhi on a flydubai flight, all under one booking.
At present, Cyprus Airways operates flights to and from Dubai every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. A fourth weekly flight, on Wednesdays, will be added in June, while from September the route is expected to operate daily.
Passengers will also have access to onward connections through Dubai to any destination served by flydubai’s network.
