Cyprus detects three new cases

Three new coronavirus cases were detected on Friday, when 3,108 tests were carried out, bringing total cases detected since the outbreak of the virus in March to 1,520.

Two involved family contacts of a case announced on September 9, with one having a history of travel to the UK, while the third case involved an asymptomatic local who took the initiative to get tested.

The Famagusta general hospital is currently treating three coronavirus patients, one of which is in the ICU, while another coronavirus patient is receiving care in the Nicosia general hospital ICU.
