Koulichenko becomes the second Cypriot athlete to reach a World Championships final


Elena Koulichenko, a remarkable athlete from Cyprus, has achieved a remarkable feat by securing her spot in the high jump final at the World Championships. With unwavering determination, she cleared the bar at 1.92m on her third attempt, surpassing her personal best in the open jump category. This outstanding performance solidified her qualification for the highly anticipated final, scheduled for Sunday, August 27th.

In achieving this milestone, Koulichenko became the second Cypriot athlete to reach a World Championships final. Eleni Artimata, who competed in the 200m event in 2009, was the first. However, Elena Koulichenko stands alone as the only Cypriot athlete to make it to a World Championships final in the high jump. Her remarkable journey and exceptional achievement are a testament to her dedication and talent.
