Cyprus sees 2.9% dip in tourist arrivals in January

Tourist arrivals in Cyprus for January 2024 declined by 2.9% compared to the same period last year, with 87,961 arrivals, according to data released by the Cyprus Statistical Service (CyStat). The United Kingdom remained the largest tourist market, contributing 18.6% of total arrivals, followed by Poland (18.2%) and Greece (11.8%).

Conversely, Cypriot travel abroad showed a significant increase, rising by 12.3% with 153,499 residents returning home from trips in January 2024, up from 136,717 in the same period last year. The primary countries of return were Greece (30.5%), the United Kingdom (11.9%), Poland (4.3%), and Russia (4.1%).
