Cyprus to boil again as fresh code red issued

The Cyprus Met Service issued its second red weather warning this week, with temps expected to reach 42 degrees Celsius inland

The Met Service on Wednesday issued the second red weather warning for extremely high temperatures in a week.

The new code red warned that temperatures on Thursday are expected to reach 42 degrees Celsius inland and 36 degrees up in the mountains.

The red weather warning will come into effect at 12pm and will be valid until 5pm on Thursday.

 Weather officials issued a red warning for the first time ever on Monday.

Vulnerable group categories - very young children, the elderly, people with chronic medical conditions, and those taking certain medications - should stay out of the sun at any cost during the hottest hours of the day.
