This year, on October 9th, the Digital Agenda Cyprus Summit 2025 will take place for the eighth consecutive year. It is a conference now established for its creativity and bold technological ideas, according to Kyriakos Kokkinos, head of the conference’s organizing committee. As he told Kathimerini, Digital Agenda challenges participants to think outside the box. It is addressed to every company executive, politician, and young person who wants to stay informed about the latest developments and future prospects in the field of innovation.
With the central theme “Beyond AI”, this year’s event explores how individuals, businesses, and societies can remain competitive in a world shaped by artificial intelligence. “Innovation is not just a theoretical concept, nor does it concern only great inventions,” Mr. Kokkinos clarified, adding that “it consists of small steps that bring about change.”
Distinguished speakers
The conference’s Alpha Stage will host innovative and accomplished personalities; founders of startups, scientists, and policymakers who turn their visions into reality. The speakers, whose experience spans from early-stage startups to projects with social and economic impact, will share their stories, challenges, and successes with the audience, aiming to inspire and promote a spirit of healthy, modern entrepreneurship.
According to Mr. Kokkinos, the speakers “will offer advice to those who want to get involved in the field.” In addition, the Alpha Stage will present a special award to a distinguished researcher, scientist, or innovator, honoring excellence and pioneering contributions. The winner will be announced during the event.
The path of innovation
Mr. Kokkinos lists many reasons why someone should attend the conference. First, it offers the opportunity to learn how technology affects the evolution of the global economy and where Cyprus stands within this context. It is also a valuable experience for young people, who will have the chance to hear firsthand from individuals who have traveled the path of innovation.
“They will describe the experiences and challenges that come with this journey, so that young people can understand what to expect,” he said. “Perseverance and professionalism have helped them establish themselves in their fields of innovation, and for this reason, they serve as great role models for youth.”
As an example, he mentioned Eleni Charitonos, one of the speakers, who has overcome various challenges to establish herself in the Space Economy sector.
“Each year, the conference’s theme is updated. It doesn’t just follow the agenda of that year but also looks to the future,” Mr. Kokkinos noted. “The first conference has nothing to do with this year’s one,” he added, “because it always stays at the cutting edge of developments.”
“So, for example, if last year our theme revolved around AI, this year it examines how artificial intelligence has penetrated our lives and how this influences them in a positive and/or negative way,” he concluded.
