The Digital Agenda Summit 2024 kicked off this morning at the Nicosia Municipal Theatre, bringing together top industry leaders, government officials, and tech experts from around the region. Now in its seventh year, the summit is a major event for discussing how technology is transforming our lives, with this year’s focus on "Digital Democracy, Digitization, Innovation, and Participation."
Topics being explored include how technology can improve government services, bring new talent into business, and even help solve medical challenges. The event also covers the impact of artificial intelligence on communication and how businesses and governments can keep up with the fast pace of digital change.
Key speakers include David Rowan, founder of Wired (UK), who has backed several startups, two of which became billion-dollar companies, and Beth Davies, who has held top positions at Tesla, Apple, and Microsoft. Former Estonian prime minister Taavi Roivas, known for leading Estonia’s digital transformation, is also sharing insights on how Cyprus can move forward with its own digital initiatives. President Nikos Christodoulides will outline the government’s plans to improve the digitization of public services.
The summit is backed by the Cyprus presidency and sponsored by the Bank of Cyprus and CYTA.
